Hi everybody! This question got kicked off the bartending group because I didn't have enough Karma. Oops!

I just finished listening to The Joy of Mixology by Gaz Regan and loved it. Its very Anthony Bourdainy, all about his time working as a bartender in New York in the 80s and 90s, but full of the sort of suggestions which feel like common sense once someone else says them. Its beautifully read by a gruff, charming English guy. I'm looking for something in that vein, something friendly, colloquial, salt of the earth-y but with nuggets of bartending advice in there.

    1. I’m going to recommend “Girly Drinks” by Mallory O’Meara because I think it should be required reading for anyone remotely into booze.

You’ll meet a mix of women who have shaped the alcohol industry from all different parts of the world. Including famous bartenders, that probably have their own publications that could suit your request.
