I’ve never cried reading a book and I really want to. The only books that brought me closest to tears were Flowers for Algernon and I Who Have Never Known Men (and honorable mention to Theon’s arc in A Dance with Dragons). I’m currently reading The Book Thief and The Road in my attempt to devastate myself. Please, if anyone knows a book where every line would have me curled up and sobbing, throw it my way.

The Selfish Giant by Oscar Wilde.
The Master of Hestviken series by Sigrid Undset. I’m not exaggerating when I say no book or series has otherwise been so emotionally stressful to read (in a good way).

Where The Red Fern Grows. I read it in 1998? 1999? I will never forget the depth of that despair.
