Going to Barnes and Nobel right now, what should I pick up?
Last two times I posted this I was recommended the Secret History and Dark Matter and loved both of them!
Other favorite books: The Talented Mr. Ripley, American Psycho, Under the Skin… just to name a few.

*Hokuloa Road* by Elizabeth Hand. Set in Hawaii and it’s pretty eerie. I loved it.
Two more that have similar Secret History vibes are *The Lake of Dead Languages* by Carol Goodman and *Catherine House* by Elisabeth Thomas. The similarities are that they take place in private schools where the uncanny occurs.

i liked hidden pictures by jason rekulak. A thriller about a nanny on the mend and the child she cares for. I won’t say too much about the plot but throughout the book there’s drawings by the child that are disturbing and get increasingly detailed, way beyond a child’s ability. I thought it was a pretty good read. It helped me get back into reading

Recursion by Blake Crouch is another good one (since you liked Dark Matter).
