I’m currently studying for the ASVAB and struggling with the word knowledge/vocabulary section. I’m really looking to expand my vocabulary and get more familiar with phonics, word roots, and context clues.
Love classic literature (which I enjoyed), but it doesn’t seem to help me retain or learn new, test-relevant words. I think I need more focused exposure—books that will really introduce and reinforce a wide range of vocabulary.
I prefer nonfiction books and anything political or idea-driven. If you know of any books (or even word-building resources) that helped you grow your vocabulary naturally while still being interesting to read, Thanks
