hii im 23 (genderfluid but afab, important to note in case theres any intertwined trans/ftm/stories highlighting gender) and ive been strictly on movies for my teenage to adulthood and ive been missing how book wormy i was as a kid, ive been trying to get back into it lately. i have lots noted to read soon, but all feel too intimidating right now to just jump into after not reading anything super long for a while. i have wicked on hold (also newly very into musicals if this helps, i.e., rhps, lsoh, the wiz, esp funny girl). im also looking for something somewhat specific in tone. the main one being an overall eeriness, if it helps more i love sci-fi, horror, fantasy, anything with fantastical elements whatsoever, absurdism, surrealism, dreamlike, heartbreak and romance. obviously a movie like eternal sunshine is one of my favs. love michel gondry, spike jonze, jim henson, satoshi kon, john carpenter specifically the thing and they live. movies like the artist, the fly, titane.. i wont make this too long, but just so you have an idea. if there are any must reads, easier to digest for new reader but still challenging enough, popular or niche, long or short, (preferably shorter, ill read the longer sometime) id appreciate the help sm!! thank u:)!
