Looking for exposé or memoir books about people working in or learning about an interesting industry. Some that I’ve enjoyed are about a woman learning to play poker (books by Maria Konnikova), behind the scenes at hotels (Hotel Babylon, or Hell Motel by Mike Lee), the shipping industry (Ninety Percent of Everything by Rose George, one of my all time favorites), or even exposing the reality of being in a harem (Down the Rabbit Hole or Some Girls). But really, anything that gives a behind the scenes glimpse into the reality of an interesting industry. Can be wholesome or gritty, just not sad please.
