Basically the title. I want a male MC who is for some reason made aware of the things that go bump in the night. I'd prefer a more down to earth serious tone to the book rather than a jolly trip through the whimsical. I'd like there to be lots of character interactions, I don't really like being stuck too much in the characters head.
A dude out of his element pushed around by forces way more powerful than him. A big plus if there's some sort of court intrigue between the magical beings the MC needs to learn to navigate. Beyond that there's no restrictions on anything except cheating and rape, just don't want it in my books. Thank you!
