I'm looking for novels featuring young women who struggle with insecurity, loneliness, depression, or feelings of being unattractive people and lack romantic experience but who still find connection, love, or friendship over the course of the story.
I'm mainly interested in books that are more literary, introspective, and character-driven, rather than light romance or typical YA coming-of-age stories. The more emotional the better. I'm also open to queer literature.

The Healing Season of Pottery by Yeon Somin, about a young woman suffering from burnout who emerges from self-imposed hibernation to discover a small pottery studio in her neighbourhood. Through connecting with the potters and becoming one herself she discovers community.
Community Board by Tara Conklin, similar theme but in this case, the young woman recently broke up with her fiance and is taking refuge in her family home while her parents are away.
You have just described Mansfield Park by Jane Austen!
i really liked “stop me if you’ve heard this one” by kristen arnett, “interesting facts about space” by emily austin and “eleanor oliphant is completely fine” by gail honeyman. all 3 deal with themes of grief and depression
I highly recommend [Princess Jellyfish](https://kodansha.us/series/princess-jellyfish/).
