Hey guys, can you recommend me a book with the same vibes as Luca Guadagnino’s film Queer (but obviously not Burroughs’ Queer itself) or Brokeback Mountain? I’m looking for something that revolves around two gay characters, is interesting and not clichéd like the typical BookTok novels, and maybe even has some elements of horror, thriller, or obsession. The thing is, I usually like classics or books by older authors, but I’d also love something that makes me look at romance from a different angle — nothing too cheesy or predictable with a neatly happy ending, you know what I mean?
