I’d quit reading tbh. I burn out hard when I lean into just one genre, and switching between them with frequency is what helps keep me fresh.
I guess if I HAD to pick one, I’d probably say fantasy. Because you can incorporate many different genres worth of material and subject matter into a novel/series that is overall fantasy in nature.
But the funny thing is that fantasy is not my favorite genre. It’s just the one that I think I could make work for the longest period of time.

Nonfiction. If I had to be more specific I’d say biographies.

Historical fiction. Entertaining, educational, endless selection, and still a lot of great authors still actively writing. And it’s not “junk food” that so many other genres tend to be.

Anything but fantasy. It’s so boring.

Horror, easy. The only issue is there isn’t that much of it lol

Horror and it’s not even close. There are so many subgenres to it, and its an excellent escape. 75% of my books are horror.

Fantasy. It’s what I read the most of and it’s pretty broad so you can still get a decent variety. But honestly, it would make me miserable to stick to one genre.
