Not just a good book. Not just a five star on Goodreads "i really enjoyed this" kind of book.
I need something that detonates my soul. I want to close the final page and forget how language works. I want to stare at the wall for four hours, not sure if I'm breathing, only to whisper "…oh" and cry softly for reasons I can’t explain
I want a book that makes me question whether I’ve ever truly loved. That ruins music for me because nothing compares to its rhythm. I want to cancel plans. Alienate loved ones. Develop an enigmatic stare.
Whatever happened to just normal recommendations?
"Yeah, that was a great book. You might like it."
Epiphanies are only temporary, anyhow.
