Book suggestions for picky reader trying to get back into it!

Hi all!

I used to read heaps, but fell out of love with it due to not being able to get into the books I was reading/being able to predict the endings too easily. I really want to get back into it, but there's so much out there – so I'd love some suggestions!

Here are some of my likes and dislikes:

Likes:

Romance, comedy, things to make me cry, realistic stories, in-depth character development, crime, plot twists/unpredictable endings.

Dislikes:

fantasy, sci-fi, predictability, too many cliches, things that take a long time to build.

VERY OPEN TO ANY SUGGESTIONS. Please let me know what books you love that you think I will too, and why!
