The Fountainhead, I started it without really knowing what to expect, except that it was big, I forced myself to read the first half through stubbornness, but once I started to understand what it was about I could really appreciate the ideas.

[The Hands of the Emperor](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/af2bba9c-8f41-4a3e-b87a-8532a44ccb67) by Victoria Goddard! I never would have picked it up if I hadn’t seen it recommended on Reddit, and now it’s my favorite book. It’s a beautifully written slice of life book about the personal secretary to the emperor of the world, with a heavy focus on platonic relationships.

I just finished circe by Madeline Miller. And I hate Greek mythology normally. I could never keep everyone straight. But her writing style did something for me. Imo it was very beautifully written. The story kept me interested, I loved how it connected a lot of the pantheon in these small ways through such a long period of time. But I could easily see how it would be a slog.
