I am a Russian American and someone at a YMCA camp where I was volunteering at 15 gave me a copy of Lolita to read because I asked about what they were reading, without giving me a heads up as to the content.
I got a little bit into the book and promptly gave it back, needing a pallette cleanser book after.
I am now 35, should I give Nabokov/Lolita another chance?
