10/10 series also Glokta might legitimately be my new favorite character in all fiction, BUT with everything going on in the US right now I need something more lighthearted and hopeful that'll give me some faith in humanity. First Law is a MASTERPIECE but did not do my mental health any favors lol. I don't need cozy comfort media like Legends and Lattes, it's not that i mind there being dark elements like war and some death but LOTR, Star Wars, and Mistborn have those while managing to be incredibly heroic and sentimental, if somewhat bittersweet. I have a huge TBR but am not exactly sure what's more grimdark and more heroic fantasy. Please no grimdark. Here's what I got:
- Lightbringer
- Rivers of London
- Will of the Many
- Cradle
- Iron Druid Chronicles
- Library Trilogy (Mark Lawrence)
- Elric Series (Moorcock)
- Narnia
- Emily Wilde's Map of the Otherlands
Also feel free to recommend anything not listed here if you have suggestions!
But yeah I've already read all of Sanderson, Harry Potter, and the Farseer Trilogy. Discworld isn't exactly the kind of lighthearted I'm looking for at the moment (Though if there's a specific entry you really really need to recommend go for it i just don't want every reply to be discworld lol)
