I adore LOTR, grew up watching the movies over and over, quoting them constantly, reading the books every year and in the last couple of years getting into The Silmarillion as well as more of Tolkien's legendarium. I also love The Inheritance Cycle and constantly re-read them too, but now I'm looking for more fantasy books to read that is in a similar vein, has complex magic systems, characters with complicated and well-written arcs and interesting settings. I've heard Brandon Sanderson's books are good, any others?
Absolutely no Sarah J Maas or other smut please, I can't stand essentially fantasy erotica.
