Suggest me a book that delves into our fascination with objects. Why do we like collecting things? Or why do well-made items that previously did not interest us now compel us?

I am not sure if such a book exists but I’m pretty certain of the concept I am describing.

It’s not exactly materialism which almost worships objects. No special meaning is attributed to the objects inherently.

But why do people like collecting stuff even when they don’t care about their value or eventually selling them?

Why do I get suddenly fascinated by a well-made object I had no desire to get before?

Anyone knows of any book that delves into this or at least touches upon this?
