Question – does anyone know of a version of this book that includes black and white photos? Or, I guess a different question to ask would be – did the original 1944 publication include photos?
I've worked in the RF industry for the last ~20 years, and for the last several years I've been diving into electricity and radio from a historical perspective.
I came across some great books on Steinmetz (Kline) and Alexanderson (Brittain), published by John Hopkins University Press, which contained some amazing photos, and am still making my way through those books, as well as 'Empires of Light' by Jill Jonnes, and I stumbled across 'Prodigal Genius'.
I originally ordered a version of the book on amazon, a 2015 reprint, and was disappointing with seeing no historical photos in it. I found a 1971 version of the book on ebay, and just received it, but alas, still no photos – although the inclusion of the list of patents and an actual index was nice.
I'm just trying to determine if there is a specific version I'm looking for, or if I can stop buying multiple versions of the book lol.
