Suggest me a book about South Africa

I am traveling from the US to South Africa for around a month. I would preferably like a book to read related to South Africa, whether it be history, memoir, or historical fiction. If it helps, I enjoy reading American authors like Hemingway, Thoreau, and Louis L'Amour. I am open to any style! Thank you in advance 🙂
