Hey all! I'm headed for vacation next week and really wanting a good rec or two. I'm Dungeon Master for a dnd campaign that revolves around world-wide war, espionage, special ops, etc in a medieval/very early industrial setting with a lot of magic and early tech. I'm hitting a bit of a hole in my inspiration so looking for great stuff to help!
For reference, I read the Traitor-Son Cycle and loved it, recently finished The Bright Sword and loved it, but couldn't DNF the first book of the Black Company series – so war stuff is cool but grim dark isn't my cup of tea.
I've been tempted to jump in Mistborn (never read any Sanderson and am a little daunted by the volume), I've had a friend recommend Mists of Avalon too and am considering it, but wanted to see what you all thought first!
Excited to hear what you think 🙂

It’s a graphic novel series, but I cannot recommend [Saga by Brian K Vaughan and Fiona Staples](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15704307) enough. It’s everything you’re looking for and one of the best series I’ve ever read – period.
