Looking for books that have a sense of darkness and mystery while examining human nature and society.

Not looking for all out ‘thriller’ rather something lurking beneath – a feeling that something isn’t quite right, as a mystery slowly reveals itself

Something in the same vein as the Handmaid’s Tale – Margaret Atwood, Never Let Me Go – Kazuo Ishiguro, The Picture Of Dorian Gray – Oscar Wilde but more of a ‘page turner’.
