Never read a full novel before at all, need some book recommendations with some slight philosophy from the 90s

I've never read a proper novel ever my whole life and I want to get into it, I would like some recommendations of any genre with a little bit of philosophy in it, a book from the 90s (since that just sounds cool), ideally something with simpler langauge so I don't give up halfway lol
