She enjoyed “Girls Like Us” by Sheila Weller (bio about Joni, Carole, & Carly). I already own “Just Kids” by Patti Smith and can lend to her when she wants to read it.

She’s recently been reading a lot of self-help and humour, but loves memoir & biography.

I don’t know many books on musicians but my favorite is memoir is _Me Talk Pretty One Day_ by David Sedaris. It’s very funny. The title comes from him trying to learn French from a very unfriendly French teacher.

I’m Glad My Mom Died was great, but might be a little rough title as a gift for Mom lol

      Bossy Pants by Tina Fey

The Woman in Me, the Britney Spears memoir is infuriating and heartbreaking

I liked the audiobook James Patterson, by James Patterson, narrated by James Patterson. He’s adorable.

Tom Lake is fiction, but it reads like an autobiography of an almost-famous actress.

I recently finished Ina Garten’s memoir Be Ready When the Luck Happens and adored it. I opted for the audiobook as she is the narrator and I fondly her voice reassuring.

Dear Girls by Ali Wong – hilarious

Watford Forever by John Preston & Elton John – didn’t expect to love this as much as I did. This did not get enough press

      Julie Andrews has 2:
      – Home (early years)

I’m reading Becoming by Michelle Obama and it’s great. Highly recommend

    6. The new Cher memoir was really great! She is such an integral part of the development of modern rock and pop, I had no idea! It starts with stories of her parents and grandparents and honestly, it helped make her choices make sense. Her relationship with Sonny was crazy, weird, rocky and everything in between. Plus she knew everyone… from the Beatles to The Stones!

    7. I really enjoyed The Third Gilmore Girl by Kelly Bishop. It included a lot of interesting stories about how the musical “A Chorus Line” came to be! Even if she never watched Gilmore Girls, it’s a great read. Highly recommend.
