Hi everyone, I am looking for some suggestions on middle grade non-fiction books for my son. He is 10 years old. He is currently reading a National Geographic Kids chapter book about crocodile encounters and really enjoying it. He likes learning about animals and all sciency type things. Just wondering if anyone has suggestions of books or series that he might enjoy. He won't want something like Magic School Bus, I don't think.

The Sibert award is for nonfiction children’s books. That’s a good starting place. Other than that browse the nonfiction section at the library. Ours has a huge section of new animal and science books.
He might like the “I Survived” series of fiction books based on real life historic disasters. Examples include the destruction of Pompeii, the San Francisco earthquake, the sinking of the Titanic, the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The series has over 20 books. They are not overly graphic, written for grades 4 through middle school.
