I am looking for some new books. I suffer from anxiety and depression, books are one of my main escapes, thus I prefer books that make me feel better over dramatic books with supposedly better writing. The only hard requirement I have is that they are available in audio format. I only get book time when I am doing something else. Here are some of the things I’m looking for in a book. The more the book hits the better, but missing some is perfectly fine:
- Cozy/comfy/feel good books
- Female protagonist
- Female love interest(s)
- Non-human protagonist, the further from human the better.
- Iseakai’d or re-incarnated in a new world with memories of the old
- White room trope, protagonist has to figure out what’s going on along with the reader.
- Overpowered protagonist (I have too many problems in real life to worry about the protagonist in my books.)
- Light romance (preferable NOT sexually explicit.)
- Fantasy or sci-fi (I prefer magic over tech, but love both)
- Everything works out in the end
- Unique magic systems
- Magic (or tech) that gets majorly exploited by the protagonist. I love using real world knowledge to improve fantasy magic.
- Lighthearted/ humorous
Things I don’t like, but I can today :
* explicit sex, although offscreen encounters are fine
* Excessive sexual innuendo
* Litrpg or RPG style level ups & systems, while I will still listen to these I don’t really care for all the numbers, an exception to this would be subverting the trope.
* The main character is constantly under stress, I get enough of that in real life.
Books/series that I enjoy:
* Bobiverse
* Vigor Mortis
* Project Hail Mary
* A Budding Scientist in a fantasy World
* Melody of mana
* Anything by Brandon Sanderson
* Fred the Vampire Accountant
* Legends and Lattaes
* Reborn as a Demonic Tree
* Beneath the Dragoneye Moons
