    1. The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. The very definition of beautiful pain. It’s based off Patroclus and Achilles from The Illiad. The romantic in me was spoilt to the last word.

The End of the Affair by Graham Greene. Set during WWII, shows all the nuances, complexities, depths and strengths of love; how serious, dynamic and mighty it can be, while also showing how selfish it is.

Call Me by Your Name by André Aciman. Yearning, summer love, and the ache of something that was never built to last. This book captures it in all its intensity and sadness.

So Long, See You Tomorrow by William Maxwell. Only 135 pages long, it’s a little masterpiece. The romance in this is ghostlike and forever unreachable. It reads like regret.

One Day by David Nicholls is a lot like Normal People in the way it follows two people over decades. Another great story!
