Hey, all! I'm sure there's been a dozen posts like this since summer's about to start, but I've got a voracious reader on my hands and Google is providing me with minimal help.
I've got a 9 year old girl, turning 10 this summer, and she absolutely loves to read. She loves topics of fiction, fantasy, sci-fi, science, art; if it's full of imagination or discovery, she's there. She's an exceptionally creative and kind child, but she sometimes makes decisions that are based more on peer pressure based on what she knows is the right thing to do, like accepting dares that might get her in trouble, or repeating things that other students have said simply because they are being repeated.
I was hoping to guide her towards texts that embody strength of conviction, character, and confidence, but everything I've found is more geared towards teenagers. Her reading level has been mapped at a 6th grade level, but I don't quite know if she's ready to process situations more geared towards older kids. Y'all got any suggestions? ❤️ Thank you so much for reading!
