    1. I’m sorry the going is rough. I also love escaping into a book sometimes to help me cope with my real life stressors. Some ideas/categories that may help:

Picking up an old favorite— rereading Harry Potter is a total comfort read for me.

Fantasy/romantasy/romance: I guilty pleasure binged the acotar series during a prior low spell. There’s lots of great options out there depending on your tastes. Fourth wing, Abby Jimenez books, Emily Henry are popular ones I see a lot but haven’t checked out yet myself.

Cozy reads: Legends and Lattes was like a hug in a book. Secret society of irregular witches also felt very cozy and warm.

Humorous self help: “maybe you should talk to someone” was funny, introspective, and helpful all at once

I hope you’re able to take care of yourself and that better days are ahead!

I’m sorry that you’re having a lonely day. Just one of the many, many reminders that the world isn’t the way it’s supposed to be.

Here are some books that gave me a ‘hopeful recharge’ as you put it.

*Tress of the Emerald Sea* by Brandon Sanderson. This book is just a fun, lighthearted, hopeful, good time. Honestly, there isn’t much to know going into it besides the fact that it’s extremely creative, a pirate story, and has a main character you will come to love. (Plus, there’s a talking rat.) I hear it’s a bit like *Princess Bride*, though I’ve never read that book.

*The Enchanted April* by Elizabeth von Arnim. Definitely read this if you’re down in the dumps. It’s a story of a group of women who get away from rainy, gloomy England and go stay in an Italian castle for a month. Don’t be put off at the fact that it takes place in April and we’re in May–you can read it any time!
