I am looking for a book/series that feels like Schitts creek, where the characters get more and more loveable. Its one of my favorite TV shows. I just love how they are funny and become so loveable and better people as the series goes on. Found family is my favorite trope. Any genre is fine!

Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar. It popped in my head and my first response was…no not quite, but then I sat with it and I love the Schitts Creek comparison! The book is funny, very humane, super clever, hits deep—and the characters grow in depth, and I thought there was also a great portrayal of a relationship between characters that happen to be gay.
I’d be curious if anyone else who sees this and has read the book agrees with the comp.
The Bear. It’s stressful at times, but pretty genius and very well done. You just have to hold on for the full ride to see it all come together.
