I'm looking for a book with emotional intensity of a “villain undercover” AU. Something where the FMC is undercover in a villain organization, hiding her true identity and walking a dangerous line. And MMC is someone on the outside like a hero, detective, or agent who has to pretend not to know her for the mission's sake.

A bonus point if one is heavily injured or in danger but they cant break their character due to the mission
secret glances, hidden emotions, pain of pretending not to care
