Trying to beat a long slump after reading a heavy Erik Larson book that I enjoyed but was too intense since it covered WW2.
Have some vacation planned and really need something I can enjoy, like Bill Bryson s books (have read them all).
It could be part fiction but I don't enjoy Sci Fi, or horror ,but something that has hilarious one liners or situations.
Don't mind reading a decent thriller like Jack Reacher as well something that would keep me hooked.

Cheryl Strayed’s Wild is another great book about hiking the Pacific Crest Trail.
Nala’s World by Dean Nicholson
Mary Roach writes some good pop-sciencey stuff like Bill Bryson.
(None of these are exactly like Bryson, but they do have humour, and involve travelling, so I’m going with them…)
*An Idiot Abroad: The Travel Diaries of Karl Pilkington* by Karl Pilkington.
*America Unchained* by Dave Gorman
(Relatedly, maybe try *Are you Dave Gorman?* by him and Danny Wallace, which sees him trying to win a bet by meeting other Dave Gormans. Danny Wallace’s humour does remind me of Bryson more generally too, so maybe consider his books if the travel aspect isn’t an absolute requirement – for example *Join Me*, in which he accidentally formed a cult; and *Yes Man*, about a year in his life when he opted to say yes to every opportunity)
His other book called In a Sunburned Country about traveling Australia.
