Almost every single fantasy work that I have seen seems to be dealing with the gods. And it's literally the gods. They usually speak of the gods, as if there are many gods doing the same thing, and they may just take an English expression with 'God' in it and make it into 'gods', without much thought into the gods or the spiritual realm.
Anyway, I would like a fantasy work that may reference many gods and a super-important god used in various places. Or maybe a fantasy work that explicitly says 'God' as if it is the only god available and everyone worships the god for just about anything under the sun? Need a good harvest? Pray to God! Need to go to war? Pray to God! Need to find a good spouse? Pray to God! Need to find a long-lost person? Pray to God! Need to ensure a smooth labor and delivery? Pray to God! Need to find a career path? Pray to God!
