I just finished a book that didn't fully engage me until the last few chapters. I kept waiting for it to get more interesting, and it finally did, but it wasn't worth the wait. I'd like to read a book that's engrossing from cover to cover. It doesn't necessarily have to be action packed. But a book that has interesting characters, beautiful prose, or an interesting premise that would be worth reading even if you never reached the end.

I don’t see it really recommended often, but for me this is “Cold Sassy Tree” by Olive Ann Burns. It’s a coming of age story that deals with classism, the true meaning of progress, and family scandal. I’ve reread it too many times to count.
I felt that way about Gateway by Frederick Pohl and the Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by VE Schwab.
The Measure by Nikki Erlick. It’s a story that kept me interested from page one and really made me think. It’s safe to say I think about this book weekly.
Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer, without a doubt.
Dungeon Crawler Carl. Nonstop chaotic and depressing shitshow.
