Hi there!
Going through a separation that was pretty unexpected, among other hardships over the last few years (miscarriage, infertility, isolation). I find myself facing a life I did not expect, that I could not have planned for. I have been looking for an uplifting read that might help me see things from a different perspective/process. My spouse was not abusive, so many of the books I am seeing in separation/divorce groups are not my bag.
I started to read "It's not Fair" by Melanie Dale, the concept and tone of which I really, really like but it is bursting with bible verses and Christian references. I do not mind this at all here and there, but "just give it to God" and "We don't have to like God's plan, but we must trust it," does not resonate with me.
Additional context: My spouse recently discovered they are asexual. We are still in love, but this incompatibility is causing the end of our marriage. If there are any recommendations on books (similar to the aforementioned or not) that may touch on coping with this type of change, I'd love to hear those too!
