I like the idea of fiction that complements my nonfiction reading, a lot of which is about cities. I love it when a location is a character in a book or movie. But that's just an interest if that helps suggest something. I read Slaughterhouse 5 recently, which I loved because it was so unique and new. Some of my favorite novels I have read are the Captain Alatriste Novels and others by Arturo Perez Reverte because of their vivid settings, themes of nationalism/empires/religion, and exciting narratives. So I like a whole bunch of things, and I'm looking for something interesting, exciting, and thought-provoking, worth reading, but ideally not ridiculously obscure.
