One book that really hooked me was ‘Baaz’ by Anuja Chauhan. It’s set in 1971, and the main lead is an Indian AirForce Officer. It’s too good, kept me busy from beginning to end.
If you want a little more thrill, I’d say ‘No Second Chance’ by Harlan Coben.
