They are like apples and oranges, though.
If you want super dark & twisted, then obviously HA. If you want more adventure, then FW.
If I had to choose, then *maybe* FW, just because there is world building, etc.

Fourth wing is probably better if you are asking. Haunting Adeline is very very dark and unless you are a big DR reader it will probably not be a good into to the genre. It is straight up rape and hipocracy.

I loved the haunting Adeline series! It’s not for everyone though. It’s VERY dark
