I like medieval western stories (fantasy or historical fiction) as much as the next guy, but i also really like History as a whole, i like to learn about other cultures, legenda and mythologies that i'm not familiar with.
I know that as of lately Ancient Greece and Feudal Japan have been getting a lot of attention (Circe, the song of Achilles, Shogun, etc), those are already on my list but if you know more good titles please inform me.
But i would also like to know if there are good fictional/ fantasy stories with other eastern/asian settings/ themes, Like ancient China, India, Arabia, Mongol, etc, do you guys know good stories about those cultures/mythologies ?
Regarding full on fantasy it doesn’t need to be specifically about one culture it can be a silkpunk/sandalpuno story, like Avatar the last airbender.

An Indian book called Mahabharat 2025. Really good, pretty gripping. Another one is Mrityunjay. Honestly mind blowing
I haven’t personally read these particular books, but I have read and enjoyed others of his set in the same broader alt-historical universe: Under Heaven and River of Stars by Guy Gavriel Kay
