Hi!
I just finished The God of the Woods by Liz Moore and I loved it to bits. I’ve been looking for books similar to it but goodreads recommendations suck ass; drop a comment if you know a mystery (or even something just kinda mysterious) that’s preferably in the past and preferably takes place in nature/ the outdoors. I’ve already read where the crawdads sing and I’d say it fits into this category too.

I’m not quite sure whether it fits but maybe The Distant Hours by Kate Morton? (Not quite sure however how much of it Takes place outdoors. It’s been a while since I’ve read it but I remember that I loved it)
If you don’t mind a novel more on the murder-mystery-side: Riley Sager’s Last Time I Lied is set in a Summer Camp 🙂
Both books have parallel narrative strands – one set in the past the other in the “present”
