Literary fiction by Desi authors?

Hi everyone! I’ve been wanting to read some literary fiction by Desi authors and wondered if anyone had any recommendations!

To get a sense of the authors I like, some of my favorites are Milan Kundera, Khaled Hosseini, Kurt Vonnegut, Banana Yoshimoto, George Orwell, and Haruki Murakami.

I really don’t have a specific type of story I’d like to read. I just want something beautifully written and engaging!
