I've been reading for years now, and there are books I loved from page 1, fell in love with eventually, and some I hated even tho they were supposed to be my style. I've been having a hard time picking a new book. Let me know if you have recommendations based on the books I've loved 🙂
Absolutely loved from page one:
~ Assassin's blade
~First three books of Throne of glass (Love the whole series, but I was young, so imagine my reaction when I was introduced to smut)
~Six of Crows (I WILL DIE FOR THE SLOW BURN)
~Mistborn (Love the setting and story, but some political aspects got boring I guess)
~The Night Circus (Didn't like the story but it warms my heart to read it smh)
~Hunger Games (Catching fire is my fav.)
~Dark Matter (Yes, I love sci fi too)
~A darker shade of Magic (only read 50 pages but I'm already in love like???)
~You by Caroline Kepnes (took me by surprise)
Now the books I hated:
~The cruel prince (It was not what I expected, I hated the setting, I hated the fact that Vivi was not the main character, I didn't like the writing style either)
~Mortal instruments (maybe the writing style idk what went wrong)
~Inheritance games (felt like a fanfic)
~The cartographers (couldn't connect to characters)
~Scythe (Love the idea but the characters just felt off by the end of it)
~Fifth season (I hated reading the pov of older version, can't remember why)
~The way of kings (some parts are just boring, still trying to finish it because it's brandon sanderson 😭)
So far I've figured I absolutely love slow burn, and I don't like romance as main plot. I will read it even if it's not slow burn but has an amazing story. Writing style matters to me, I need to connect with characters and the setting. Your opinions are appreciated 🙂
