Ok well not literally, that’s something I gotta work on by myself with my therapist LMAO. But I really want a book where the main character has a either a bad relationship with their bio dad or the dad isn’t in the picture for whatever reason (death counts) but eventually finds a father figure that helps them work through their possibly-dad-related issues. Does not have to be the main plot but should be obvious as you read. MC and father figure should not be romantic (in case it wasn’t obvious) but physical affection is fine and MC can have another love interest

Only book relationship I can think off the top of my head that does what I’m hoping for are Haymitch and Katniss in the Hunger Games. Sure, Katniss doesn’t have daddy issues in the typical sense since she had an amazing relationship with him before he died, but Haymitch is the closest thing to a living father. He acts rude at first but you can see how they grow together. And that scene where Katniss has a breakdown in the third book and he hugs and comforts her is just soooo good and the thing I want the most (I love hurt/comfort)

No specific genre, just want a hurt/comfort filled book with happy ending. No explicit sex scenes either

    1. *All the trigger warnings!*

Black Jewels, Bishop. The FMC gets quite abused, but one of her bright lights is her adoptive father.

All sex is either innuendo, fade to black, or discussed after. It is very sensual.
