I read and ejoyed The Shining and IT when younger (I was terrified, yet compelled to keep reading) and have enjoyed the Mr Mercedes trilogy recently.
In researching his books, The Stand, gets high praise, but I read in one review that it is a little outdated and hasn't stood the test of time.
Is it worth reading?

I read it at the beginning of this year for the first time and really enjoyed it. Some parts are definitely dated and problematic but I think the overall story is still worthwhile.
