I’m just throwing in a few of my favorites.
Rescue in Denmark by Harold Flender.
Coming of Age in the Milky Way by Timothy Ferris.
The Black Count by Tom Reiss.

Books by Erik Larson would be right up your alley based on the books you posted. The following are all great.
Devil in the White City
In the Garden of Beasts
Dead Wake
Isaac’s Storm

Tuchman’s other books are all good too.

Grann’s other one, *The Wager*, definitely belongs here.
Also *Endurance* by Alfred Lansing and *African Samurai* by T
Lockley & G.Girard

You said, “based on” not “based off of”. Thank you.
I’ll ignore “boons” because everyone has done that.
Unfortunately, I don’t know those books (or the genera—I love sci-fi, fantasy, apocalypse), But if you want something that sounds stupid but is an actual gem, check out Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinnimin.
I’m not a gamer, nor a LARPer. But I’ve laughed and cried over this series. Was not expecting such a gem. Do it via audible and introduce yourself to the best narrator of our time.
