I read my year of rest and relaxation as well as Lapvona and other Ottessa Moshfegh books and I love her protagonists. They're gross, gritty, real, unfiltered, women who are going through it, and don't give very many fucks. I love that. I'm looking for a book where the protag is just going through it, and it gets worse but the ending is fantastic. I want a shit show, but no lame romance running the plot.
A mystery/thriller works too. Any recommendations?
