What are some lines that are unexpected in a book you read? Sadder, deeper, funnier, etc. than you would have thought
I'm reading Osman's Last Devil to Die and just got hit with "But, however much life teaches you that nothing lasts, it is still a shock when it disappears. When the man you love with every fiber starts returning to the stars, an atom a time." Definitely wasn't expecting to get so emotional about my and my partner's own mortality while reading a fairly light-hearted cozy mystery!
