Got some health stuff going on. Going to have a lot of down time. I really love book series. I want to just eat up a whole world. I have the hardest time finding series I love (I’ll read anything). But, want to feel the same way when I first burned through the following series I loved:
– Lotr
-Narnia books
-Casandre Claire Mortal Instruments
-Sookie Stackhouse novels
-Pretty much everything by Charlene Harris
-Didn’t “love” but loved the vast array of characters, mystery and world of “Charley Davidson” series
-not a book exactly but, my favorite written work is “The importance of being Ernest”
-Sherlock Holmes books
-Most of all Agatha Christie especially her Poirot character (though I usually hate anything set solely in the 1920s, gives me the sad ick).
-Cheesy but loved the suburban fantasy aspects of the Twilight series (don’t at me). Kinda gave me the ick for vampires and wolves but I’d def try again if it’s a good read.
-Sarah J. Maas books. Not my favorite but again the world building. The mysteries of who is she? Where did she go cotton eye Joe etc.
-Iron Druid series. Didn’t love the writing style 100% but loved the world.
-Sorry Neil Gaman makes me sad idk why I’m sorry Neil Gaman
-Harry Potter (didn’t read until I was 25 but man that was magical)
I am looking for something with mystery. A death to solve or a mystery of who are they, where they come from idk just want some kinda mystery. Also prefer if that mystery has an elf or two thrown in there. A time traveling receptionist. Fairy queens. Could be an alien looking for their momma. Idk, just something not entirely of this world. Love humor. Loved Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy, but was maybe just a bit to much humor for what I am looking for. Don’t care if the main is a boy, girl or neither. Honestly I’ll even read trash. Would also like to take this time to note I hate anything by or similar to Henry James.

A Charm of Magpies series by K.J. Charles
Magic in Manhattan series by Allie Therin
{{Something From the Nightside, by Green}}
The Shadow and Bone trilogy by Leigh Bardugo. It’s a whole Grishaverse. Continues on with the Six of Crows duology and then the King of Scars which jumps back and answers what happened after Shadow and Bone. So there’s about 7 books there to keep you entertained for awhile.
Millennium trilogy by Stieg Larsson
Discworld. The series has 42 books and their comedic and lovely to read
And it ranges through pretty much every genre you can think of
Curse Words by Derin Edala is fabulous and full of mysteries, if you’re fine w ebooks
Douglas Adams (Hitchhikers Guide) also put out a series of zany mystery books starting with Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency. Think there are at least 3 books in that series.
Not sure if it hits the mystery thing, but lev Grossmans magicians trilogy was nice and easy to read
A Series of Unfortunate Events are absolutely incredible and such a cool, unique & mysterious tone!!!!
Jodi Taylor’s ‘Chronicles of St Mary’s’ – time travelling historians.
But go with the Discworld recommendations first!
