My daughter (16) is struggling to find a book to get into. She wants something that grabs you from the beginning. She doesn’t like fantasy, and is open to romance. Any recs are welcome!
She wants to read The Summer I Turned Pretty but it’s on hold at the library. Any other recs similar?
Today Tonight Tomorrow by Rachel Lynn Solomon. It’s a young adult romance.

If she’s open to a unique perspective on a “the world has already ended and this is what’s left” book from the perspective of a young boy trying to save his dog, I HIGHLY recommend A Boy and His Dog at the End of the World by C. A. Fletcher. Genuinely a beautiful book with a wonderful story. And, for clarity sake: not a zombie Apocalypse story. Also. Yes. I cried. A lot. And, no. I won’t spoil why. 🙂

Ally Carter’s books are great like that. Heist Society or the Gallagher Girls series are both great.
For more on the romance side American Royals is great!

When I was 16 I really liked Sarah Dessen books and then gossip girl series. It has a couple spin offs as well.

Melissa McClone is a wonderful author who writes heart warming romances, with very low heat. She has a nice website. Good luck.
