My son looooved Misty of Chincoteague. Any time I look for similar books, they are all horse themed. The thing is, he didn't love the book because of the horses. Can anyone suggest a similar book in terms of theme, style, and pacing? Coming of age, boy and his animal, light trials to overcome but mostly positive. Thank you!
