The Spear Cuts Through Water by Simon Jimenez. One of the most unique stories I’ve read. The audio version is also amazing. Read it a year+ ago and haven’t found anything that even comes close since.

The Earthsea Cycle and *The Left Hand of Darkness* by Ursula K. Le Guin, *Lord of the Rings*, and Ann Leckie’s *The Raven Tower* is probably the best storytelling I know. That is—these all have the combination of very good writing style and a very interesting story. A number of authors can tell a great story. Sometimes they also have very good writing style, but these are just the best of the best for me.
